As many people know, this is a screen play written by John Tiffany and Jack Thorne based on the characters from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. It’s written as a play, not as a book, which can be disconcerting for some readers.
This is play is mainly focused on Harry’s son Albus and Draco’s son Scorpius and their friendship that defies their parents animosity with each other. Albus is struggling to live up to his father’s reputation and Scorpius is an outcast because of the rumor he’s Voldemort’s son. They have a pure and true friendship based on their trying to find themselves while under their father’s shadows. The boys try and help Cedric Diggory’s father by going back in time with a confiscated Time Turner to save him from Voldemort. With each turn back, they make a change and the future is altered leaving them having to go back again to try and fix everything. The story is fast paced and I was able to finish the play in one sitting. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, this is a good read that gives you a peek into what Harry’s life is like after Voldemort.
