Loving From Afar – Book Review

JadePosted by

This is the first book in the Women of Independence series by Mona Ingram that I found on sale through BookBub.

Allison and Cole are two young adults that fall in love very young and let their immaturity and outside influences effect their relationship. I am not the biggest fan of young adult books because I find myself getting frustrated with the characters choices, this book being the same. While I understand the WHY, it’s still hard to read about¬†Allison and Cole breaking up and losing so many years together over very easily fixed misunderstandings. If they had just taken a moment to calm down and let reason set in rather than letting emotions take control they would have had their HEA. But that would have made for a very short book! I liked that Ingram made the characters relatable and likable even though they are immature and naive about life and love. You find yourself hoping that they will finally get their heads out of their butts and realize that they should be together. This is a quick and easy read that I enjoyed and I look forward to the other books in the series.
