This is the first book in the Indigo Bay Sweet Romance series by Stacy Claflin. The entire series is made up of six different authors and different characters, but the location of each story is set in Indigo Bay. The book is not available for purchase until May 16th, but can be pre-ordered until then.
Sky is a character that is introduced in the Bayside Hunters series, but her story continues in a new location since she moved to find a way to live a life free of her twin sister’s fame. Jace is a man that’s trying to get his life back on track after several devastating events that have left his alone and struggling to find peace. The romance between the two is quick – but that’s expected for these books – and the story is a quick, easy, enjoyable read. I know that the typical setup for romance books are that after the boy meets the girl and they start to fall in love, there is supposed to be some problem that causes them to break up or keep them apart. I expect that, and sometimes enjoy the drama and reunion; if the situation is real and relatable and not stereotypical. My only complaint about this story is that the only reason there was a break up is because Sky pulled the most annoying and typical move that a woman can make – in a book or real life. She was upset with Jace and expected him to just know what she was upset about. I absolutely hate when women do this or when it’s used in books. Other than that, this is a good beach read for this summer.
