This is the first book in the Lucky O’Toole Vegas Adventure series by Deborah Coontz, that I found on sale on Amazon. It’s a good book and I’ve added the next one to my Read Next list.
Lucky is a 30-ish woman that does damage control for one of the largest hotel/casino’s in Las Vegas. She’s a great character – sarcastic, witty, smart, strong, flawed – and it’s fun to read about the craziness that she encounters because of her job and how she handles it all. There is a woman that is caught on camera by a tourist that falls out of the casino helicopter, and Lucky is tracking down what happened while trying to keep the story from being splashed all over the news. The story has some twists, and lots of funny side adventures that make this a quick read. There is also some romance, which took me a bit to get used to since it’s with her best male friend that is a top female impersonator in Vegas. Teddie has some great qualities and he would be a perfect boyfriend, but she hates that he looks better in a dress than she does. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book.
